Aging In The Comfort Of Your Own Home

By Greg Kling 2  pm On

Getting older should never be a negative thing and with Assisting Hands it never will be. As we age there are things we’re simply not capable of doing anymore. The degree of this varies, and sometimes a helping hand every once in a while allows you to completely fend for yourself. That’s where we come in.

At Assisting Hands Home Care Cincinnati many of our nurses and other staff members can relate to these situations through their own family members. For example, my grandfather has Parkinson’s disease and dementia, and recently got knee surgery. The result of this is freezing spells, mood swings, and a limited ability to do daily tasks on his own. My grandmother has been able to handle it for the most part, but sometimes she is just exhausted. I talked to her and we set up a respite care plan that essentially offers assisted living in their home whenever she needs it. One thing that has greatly helped, is having someone around at night to help my grandfather use the restroom, or if he gets restless. Assisting Hands can accommodate for hours at a time or days at a time, whatever your situation requires.

Doing this allows you to stay in the comfort of your own home, while having extra help to improve the safety of all people involved. As much as significant others feel it is their duty to help, it can be strenuous and dangerous. Our respite in home care services cater to tasks and services such as: bathing, grooming, transportation, meal preparations, customized care, hospice, medical alert systems and much more.

Even though we may be getting older, tasks can still be accomplished, it just might require a helping hand. We’re happy to provide that, and allow you to maintain your pride and independence.
